Overview
Chrguessr ("we", "us") is an independent, hobby-run browser game. This policy explains what information we process when you play and how to reach us with questions.
Information we collect
To play, you only choose a display name — Chrguessr does not require an account, email, or password. While you're in a room, the server temporarily keeps the room/session data needed to run the game (your display name, room code, game state) over a WebSocket connection; this data isn't sold or shared, and isn't kept as a permanent profile tied to you.
Cookies and advertising
Chrguessr uses Google AdSense to show ads that help keep the game free. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses this data, and manage your ad personalization settings, at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you'll see a consent message before any personalized ads are shown.
Donations
If you choose to support Chrguessr financially, that happens entirely through Ko-fi, a separate third-party platform with its own privacy policy. Chrguessr never sees or stores your payment details.
Children's privacy
Chrguessr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game evolves. Continued use of Chrguessr after a change means you accept the updated policy.
